First, I want to say that I hope you all continue to have precious memories and experiences with your children. For those of you whose students have attended our school in the past, welcome back! For our new families, we want to welcome you. I hope that you will love the culture and climate we have here at Hyatt Park Elementary School.
My name is Danielle Reilly, and I am the very proud principal here at Hyatt Park. I have been in education for 17 years where I have worked as a special education teacher, an assistant principal, and principal. I have three children, Mia (14), Brandon (12), and Mason (8) and three dogs. I have been married for 15 years to my wonderful husband Brandon, who is a retired Army Infantry soldier and currently a PE teacher at PACE Academy. Needless to say, we have a very busy and blessed house!
Last year was my first year as principal at Hyatt Park. I can honestly say that it was the best professional experience of my life. I loved getting to work with the students, staff, families, and community members. The children at Hyatt Park are truly Cougariffic!
In year two, we hope to accomplish many academic goals that include increasing achievement on ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We will have a strategic focus on engaging strategies that have a high impact on student learning that include small group instruction, AVID WICOR (writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading) best practices, hands-on instruction, and we are going to develop an engagement lab for our K-5th grade students. With that said, we need YOUR help. We cannot do this important work alone, and I encourage each one of you to get on our volunteer list. This is a parent/family friendly school, and we know that you are your child’s first teachers.
I plan to communicate with all Cougar Families every Sunday by 6:00 pm through the autodialer, email, and text messages. We are also a Schoolwide Classroom Dojo school, and we frequently post pictures, important messages, and share information daily with families through Dojo.
Again, I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful, smart, and caring children with our Hyatt Park team. Please do not ever hesitate to stop by the office or to give us a call if we can assist you in any way. I look forward to our work together in year two.
We are Hyatt Park and we strive to foster respect, cultivate an optimal learning environment, inspire academic achievement, and promote personal and community responsibility for all of our students.
