    glover Dear Stakeholders of St. Andrews Middle School Students:

    I am Derrick Glover, the principal of St. Andrews Middle School, and I am excited about joining the team of this great school! The faculty, staff, and I welcome you to what will be an outstanding school year. We are looking forward to a working, supportive relationship from all of our students, parents, community members, and all stakeholders during the 2016-2017 school year. We are St. Andrews Middle School, a leader in transforming lives through education, empowering all students to achieve their potential and dreams.

    The vision for St. Andrews Middle School is as follows:

    St. Andrews Middle School, in collaboration with an engaged community, is committed to ensuring that each learner achieves his/her potential in a safe, caring, academically challenging and diverse learning environment that will develop productive citizens for a changing world.

    Together, we will improve student achievement in all areas. As you have read in the vision statement, we can only reach this goal with your support. Our school-wide goals are outlined below.


    • Maintain a safe, orderly environment that fosters effective teaching and learning.
    • Provide quality customer service to the community and entire public.
    • Increase the effective use and integration of technology in classroom instruction.
    • Use data and assessments to monitor and adjust instructional practices.
    • Employ practical, research-based literacy strategies across the curriculum to improve academic achievement.

    Middle school is a critical time when children will develop life-long habits. We need you to work with us as we prepare our students to be productive citizens in a changing world. Being present, on time, prepared, engaged in learning, and having a positive attitude are qualities that will help children achieve success.

  • Parent Empowerment for Student Success meetings

    Richland One will hold two meetings next week to provide parents with information and strategies they can use to support the education of their children, from pre-K through 12th grade.


    The Parent Empowerment for Student Success meetings will be held from 6-7 p.m. January 31 at Southeast Middle School and February 2 at St. Andrews Middle School. Parents will receive materials to take home.


    Parents of students of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend. Please join us as we strengthen our efforts in working together to ensure the success of all students in Richland One.
