Taylor Cunningham, who takes Culinary Arts at HCTC, was chosen as the CATE Student of the Year. The Excel Outstanding student, Tyiana Johnson, is also a student in the Entertainment & Media class in CATE. The Outstanding student from ROW, Michael King, takes Lawn, Garden and Gift Enterprise at HCTC.

Heyward students in the Entrepreneurship program took a field trip to the US #1 Flea Market in West Columbia.
On February 15, representatives from Cummins, Inc., a global manufacturer, distributor and service provider of diesel and natural gas engines met with administrators of Richland One in HCTC's Conference Center to announce their partnership in forming a Youth Apprentice Program which will benefit diesel students at HCTC.
HCTC students and staff participated in this special day sponsored by the American Heart Association to help bring awareness to the fact that heart attacks are the #1 killer of women.
